Huay Kub Kab is our small place to stay in the hills of Mae Taeng — one large mountain-view villa, two poolside villas and a 16-bed dorm, sharing a garden, an infinity pool and a very quiet valley. It sits five minutes from our river base camp, which makes it the easiest place in Chiang Mai to wake up, have breakfast, and roll straight into a day on the river.

The villas

All three villas are built from wood in the northern style, with air conditioning, hot-water bathrooms, and a terrace facing the garden. The large villa looks out over the mountains and sleeps a family; the two poolside villas open almost straight into the water. Every villa stay includes breakfast for two, cooked by the same kitchen that makes the tour lunches.

Good to know

Is breakfast included?

Yes — breakfast for two people is included with every villa, every morning, cooked in our own kitchen. Thai and vegetarian options. Dorm beds include breakfast too.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 14:00 to 23:00 and check-out is until 11:00. We are a small family place, so please let us know roughly what time you plan to arrive.

Is there a swimming pool?

Yes. The infinity pool sits between the villas, open all year and warmed by the sun. There are only three villas here, so most days you will have it to yourselves.

Can I park at the property?

Yes — free private parking on site, right by the houses.

How far is Elephant Nature Park?

About 6 km — roughly ten minutes by car. Many of our guests stay the night here before or after their elephant day.

Can I book a tour while I stay?

Yes. We run our own river tubing, jungle trekking and waterfall trips from this same property, five minutes from the river. Tell us when you book and we will fit it around your plans.

Is there a restaurant nearby?

There are village restaurants about five minutes on foot, along the river, serving Northern Thai food. If everything is closed, tell us and we will sort food out for you.

Still deciding?

Tell us your dates and how many of you there are — we answer in person, usually within the hour.
