Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 July 2026
These terms apply to tours and stays booked with Tubing Chiang Mai, a family-run river camp in Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai, Thailand — operated by Eco Quest Travel and licensed as a tour operator by the Department of Tourism, TAT licence no. 23/03937 (registered office: 192 Moo 1, Ban Muang Kued, Kued Chang, Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai 50150). By booking with us — on this website or in person — you agree to the terms below. If you booked through a third-party platform (GetYourGuide, Viator, Klook, KKday or an online travel agency), that platform’s booking and refund terms apply to your payment, and the safety and participation rules below still apply on the day.
1. Booking & payment
- Bookings on this website are made through our booking system (Bokun) with secure card payment. Full payment is taken at the time of booking and your confirmation is emailed to you immediately.
- Prices are in Thai Baht (฿). Prices shown in other currencies are approximate conversions for convenience — the charged amount is the Baht price.
- A booking is confirmed only when you receive a confirmation email with a booking reference.
2. Cancellations & refunds
- Cancel more than 24 hours before your tour start time: full 100% refund to your original payment method. Refunds are processed immediately on our side and typically appear in 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
- Cancel within 24 hours of the start time, or no-show: no refund.
- Want to change the date instead? Date changes are free, subject to availability — message us on WhatsApp and we’ll move your booking.
Weather: normal rain does not stop a tour — the river simply runs a little quicker. Only a serious storm cancels a trip, and that call is made by our guides on the day, on safety alone. If we cancel your tour, you choose a full refund or a free rebooking.
3. Health & participation
- Children can join from 1 year old, depending on the river conditions that day — our guides make the final call.
- Maximum participant weight: 150 kg.
- Tours are not suitable for pregnant guests, or for guests with heart, back or neck conditions, recent surgery or broken bones. If you’re unsure, message us before booking and we’ll advise honestly.
- All participants sign a release of liability and medical form at check-in.
- Guests under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances will be refused participation for their own safety, without refund.
4. On the day
- Please be ready in your hotel lobby a few minutes before your pickup time. If you’re driving yourself, arrive at the base camp by your session start time.
- Life jackets are provided and must be worn on the water. Please follow your guide’s instructions at all times — the river is our workplace and we know it well.
- Local accident insurance is included for all participants.
5. Our elephant policy
All elephant experiences are observe-only: no riding, no feeding, no bathing, no shows. Guests who attempt to touch or feed the elephants will be asked to stop. Read the full policy on our About page.
6. Liability
Our tours are guided outdoor activities. We take safety seriously — fitted life jackets, guides on the water, an extra assistant for non-swimmers and children, and accident insurance — but river and jungle activities carry inherent risks that no operator can remove entirely. By joining, you accept these risks for yourself and anyone you book for.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies to your booking. Questions? Message us on WhatsApp or email info@tubingchiangmai.com.
